Teenagers Talking Less?

Sounds like an oxymoron but what it actually is worrisome.

According to a new report teens and tweens are texting (SMS) more than talking on their cellphones. They may not really talking less, but they are texting more than ever before, and more than talking. More than 500% more.

One can't help but wonder if this increase in texting is good news. It is good for mobile companies who charge for the service and the messages, but is it socially good? Is it healthy both physically and emotionally to text so much?

As Real Tech shows:
1,742 a month? Using a 30 day month, that’s nearly 60 a day, and (subtracting 8 hours for sleep, but not excluding school time) about 3.6 an hour.
That is a lot of texting.... and a lot of research to be done.
